Avoca Volunteer Fire Department Established in 1959
Engine 6 is a 2009 model Pierce Pumper/Tanker that sits on a Kenworth T370 chassis and was custom built for today's shuttle operations. It is equipped with an in-cab Tank-Vision system, allowing the operator to see the water level in the tank at all times. This system also allows the operator to release the entire tank of water into a drop tank through up to 3 Jet-Dump valves positioned around the apparatus without leaving the cab. It boasts a 1,500 gallon water tank with a 1,250 gallon per minute pump when operating at full capacity. This unit seats 2 and is primarily used on all reported fires.
